With reference to my interview with the Honourable the Colonial Secretary and your Mr. Houston last week, re the Quarry Farm for 1901, please be good enough to confirm what was there stated that you are prepared to bid an upset price of $10,000 for the Mataukok Quarries alone for the year 1901, if put up separately from the other quarries. It is now proposed to divide the lease into three:-

1. Hongkong.

2. British Kowloon, except Mataukok.

3. Mataukok.
